Doesn't Matter! Get Up Every Day!
Tempted to let go?
You can't predict the future.
Will you have more time?
Life's hard and tiring.
You know, it doesn't matter!
Get up every day!
(NOTE: Design purposely made of big pixels)
My grandmother was a wise person. This was one of her last bits of wisdom, which she said to a relative to whom she was close. My grandmother lost a leg to vascular problems, and then died from cancer. I heard this quote at her wake, and took it as a sort of "Carpe Diem" sort of quote. It doesn't matter if you're in pain, or if you're depressed, or if getting around or getting through the day is hard. That was all true for my grandmother. If you don't get out of bed and try to make the best of the day every day, you may someday look back on it with regret, when you can no longer stand up at all, or eventually for all of us, ever again.
This design, and the above poem, were created in her honor. I also saw it fitting to donate all of my royalties from it to her most special grandchild, my cousin Paul. Paul has a severe intellectual disability, as well as health problems such as seizures and generally weak organs. Paul will never live alone, so his parents set up a trust fund for him, for when they can no longer take care of him. All my royalties from this design will go to Paul's trust fund.
