Left half of a business logo reading "Mind's Eye Mania" Between "Mind's Eye" and "Mania" is a black circle with a blue, capital Greek letter Phi. Inside the left lobe is a billboard-face capital letter Q with the edging in yellow, filled with blue, and inside the right lobe is a yellow circle, with a smaller blue circle inside it away from center, with the lowercase letter e inside the blue circle. The convolution that is that black circle and its contents is the personal insignia of Vincent D. Camley, owner of this business. The right half of the logo.

"Pride" isn't just
Self-puffery.
It's knowing that
"It's not just me!"
Not needing to
Love secretly!

I'm not straight. I don't really know what I am. I don't think it's important to stick a label on it, as long as I acknowledge that it is whatever it is.

Self-identifying labels can be helpful though, so you can find others like you. That's a thing to understand: when someone else sticks a label on you, it's to separate you, but when you put a label on yourself, it can be to build unity instead. It's one of those weird subtleties people don't often grasp.

As for why I name this design with a + sign, I like it. I'm not L, G, B, or T, but I don't like making an acronym a jillion letters long. I like the plus sign. Everyone recognizes the term LGBT so that's important to include, and then the plus sign reminds me of those TV infomercials where they have this great product they want to sell to you for $19.95, and just when you think you're going to mash the phone buttons, "BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!" And they smack you in the face with even MORE value and even a handy accessory, FOR THE SAME PRICE! Yeah! Forget the Q for Queer (a word meaning "odd, strange, and not fitting in"), gimme that plus! I'm not stuck in the Other category, I'm really EXTRA VALUE! Seriously. I like it. I thought about it long and hard, for years, and that's what I settled on.
